Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide professional clinical care during office visits. You will prepare patients, assist providers, record histories, take vital signs, and help with phlebotomy and injections as needed.

Ideal candidates have an MA certification, CPR/BLS certification, and experience in OB/GYN or primary care. The role supports a patient-centered environment with many collaborative activities and compliance with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• FL Only Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR ability to obtain the certification within the first 120 days of employment.
• Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in OBGYN or Primary Care is a plus.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections, if applicable.
• Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and patients.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Computer data entry in electronic medical records (preferably eCW).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and other patient care areas.
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measure, record, and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection as directed by the provider.
• Educate patients with information and instructions from the provider.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment; comply with regulations.
• Sterilize medical instruments per standards.
• Relay messages between patients and front office staff.
• Represent the office professionally to patients and staff.
• Participate in team activities and required meetings.
• Demonstrate Women’s Care mission and core values.
