Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MA certification (CMA/RMA) or completion of Penn Medicine approved program.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Promptly rooms patients and prepares them for the clinician using EMR to flag readiness.
• Records accurate data, reviews medical history, allergies and meds in EMR.
• Obtain vital signs, prepares chart, and coordinates with provider for tests and referrals.
• Performs phlebotomy, collects specimens, and documents results in EMR.
• Administers injections and vaccines as directed and assists with EKGs and screening tests.
• Maintains sterile technique and supports minor procedures; responds to emergencies as needed.
• Handles telephonic care, care coordination, and patient education materials.
