Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network in Allentown, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pre-visit planning and patient care. You will update medical records, assist with examinations, and coordinate with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, and one year of clinical experience or MA program completion. CPR/BLS is required within 60 days of hire; two years of clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School degree required.
• One year of clinical experience or MA program graduate required.
• Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• Customer service experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record.
• Completes pre-charting of value-based pieces up to five days prior to appointment.
• Sends messages to the Care Team when warranted.
• Prepares patients for examination and escorts them to the exam room.
• Updates vitals, medication list, allergies, and patient history in the record.
• Assists in disposing bio-hazardous waste and maintaining exam rooms.
