Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in the practice setting. The role focuses on pre-visit planning, patient preparation, and coordination with the Care Team to enhance patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a year of clinical experience or complete a Medical Assistant program, with preferred experience in a healthcare environment and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience or graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• Customer service experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record prior to the appointment.
• Prepare patients for examination and escort to the exam room; update vitals, medications, allergies, and personal, family and social history.
• Coordinate with providers and Care Team regarding hospital discharges, ED visits, labs and specialist referrals.
• Assist in maintaining exam rooms and clinical supplies; sterilize instruments and dispose of waste per protocol.
• Handle administrative tasks such as check-in/check-out and on-boarding activities as needed.
