Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant for the OBGYN practice operations. The role supports patient prep, vitals, and documentation, working closely with providers and the care team in a busy clinic environment.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of clinical experience or completion of a Medical Assistant program, with BLS/CPR current or within 60 days of hire. On-site duties include administration, patient education, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• Customer service experience strongly preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification current or within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record prior to the appointment.
• Performs pre-charting of value-based pieces up to five days prior to the visit and communicates with the Care Team as needed.
• Prepares patients for examination: measures height/weight, takes vital signs, updates medication and allergy lists, and records smoking status.
• Assist in patient care, administer injections or immunizations per state guidelines, and maintain clean exam rooms.
• Coordinate with providers and Care Team regarding tests, labs, and referrals; support patient education on chronic conditions.
• Manage inventory, Vaccines, and supplies; handle waste disposal per protocol.
