Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support OB/Gyn clinics under supervision. You will perform patient care duties, room patients, manage supplies, and assist with procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology and safety protocols is essential.

The role requires CMA certification or completion of an MA program, BART or BLS upon hire with six-month completion, and at least three years of outpatient MA experience. Occasional hours and multiple clinic sites may apply.

Qualifications

• CMA certification or completion of an approved MA training program.
• BART or BLS certification at hire with commitment to obtain within 6 months.
• Three years of MA experience in outpatient setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients for OB/Gyn providers.
• Stocking, cleaning, checking expiration dates, supply inventory.
• Instrument processing.
• Lab specimen processing and follow up.
• Chaperoning, assisting with procedures/exams.
• Reviews AVS with patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions and body mechanics.
