Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support OB/Gyn clinics. The role requires a CMA or completion of a Medical Assistant program, BART or BLS with a commitment to obtain BART within six months, and at least three years of outpatient MA experience.

Bilingual English/Haitian Creole is a plus; OB/GYN experience is preferred. Employment may require working varied hours and locations, plus a background check and pre-employment physical.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• Three years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Room patients for OB/Gyn providers, assist with procedures and exams.
• Stock supplies, clean, check expiration dates, and manage inventory.
• Instrument processing and lab specimen processing.
• Chaperone patients and review AVS with patients; maintain team coordination.
