Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu of a program.
• For IL/WI divisions, High School Diploma or GED plus MA program or 2 years full-time MA experience.
• Wake Forest: High School Diploma or GED plus MA program or EMT training.
• Floyd & Navicent: High School Diploma or GED plus MA program or 2 years MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, history, screenings, medication reconciliation.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals, and supply ordering.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures equipment is stocked.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Medical Assistant program or DD214/EMT alternative

2 years MA experience (if applicable in IL/WI divisions)
