Job summary

Wake Forest Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support obstetrics/gynecology clinic operations. Responsibilities include patient preparation, vital signs, lab procedures, and assisting physicians with exams and tests.

The role requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, BLS certification, and familiarity with electronic medical records. On-site schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a pay range listed for the position.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills and EMR systems experience.
• Ability to develop rapport with patients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering health information.
• Monitors and completes Quality Improvement measures.
• Performs basic laboratory procedures using aseptic technique.
• Assists physicians with procedures such as pelvic exams and testing.
• Administers routine medications under orders or standing protocols.
• Ensures smooth clinic flow and refers questions to the appropriate staff.
