Job summary

Harborview Medical Center - OB/GYN is hiring a certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for 80% FTE in Seattle. The role includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, injections, and supporting providers with exams and procedures. Experience with prior authorizations and point-of-care testing is valued.

The position requires WA MA-C certification or eligibility within 6 months and BLS. Workdays are typically Monday–Friday, with 32 hours per week and a daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of an MA program accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES or other recognized accreditation
• Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6 months of hire
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider CPR card

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
• Perform injections and prepare exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations and assist with procedures
• Recognize symptoms and report to provider
• Assist in transporting patients and liaise between patient, family and providers
• Perform point-of-care testing and report abnormal results
