Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Piedmont OBGYN department (Dobys Bridge). This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position features a day shift, Monday through Friday, in a 40-hour work week with benefits eligible.

The role requires adherence to scope of practice, rooming patients, and supporting providers with procedures in a fast-paced obstetrics/gynecology setting. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered and performs lab-related duties including venipuncture and POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines following medication administration rights.
