Job summary

Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT seeks a Registered Nurse in our Obstetric Emergency Department to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to pregnant and postpartum patients with urgent concerns. You will triage rapidly, perform maternal-fetal assessments, and collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and anesthesiologists.

This full-time, 12-hour night shift position requires BSN preferred, current Connecticut RN licensure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN licensure in Connecticut.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rapid triage, perform comprehensive maternal-fetal assessments, and initiate timely interventions based on patient acuity and established protocols.
• Manage obstetric emergencies, monitor laboring patients prior to admission, coordinate care transitions, and provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Ensure accurate documentation, maintain readiness of equipment and supplies.
• Uphold all safety, quality, and regulatory standards within the department.
