Job summary

ContourGlobal in Bakersfield, California is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Technician to join our plant's Operations team. You will monitor equipment, respond to alarms, and support safe, efficient plant operation under the supervision of the Operations & Maintenance Supervisor.

The role emphasizes health & safety, routine rounds, logging, start-up/shutdown procedures, water chemistry, and preventative maintenance of electrical and control systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of operations experience in a process manufacturing or power production setting.
• Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain a power plant and related auxiliary equipment.
• Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine rounds inspecting machinery for potential malfunctions or failures.
• Maintain logs and records of operating conditions; report irregularities.
• Start-up and shutdown equipment from DCS or field in normal and emergency situations.
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical power delivery and control devices and on equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment and assist in preventative maintenance and spare parts tracking.
