Job summary

Ascendo Resources in New York is seeking an Affordable Housing Leasing Specialist (Temp-to-Perm) based in Long Island City to support leasing operations across multiple NYC properties. Candidates should have 2+ years in affordable housing leasing and hands-on Yardi experience, plus familiarity with NYCHA, HPD, Section 8 vouchers and LIHTC

Qualifications

• 2+ years of affordable housing leasing experience.
• Knowledge of NYC affordable housing programs and Fair Housing regulations.
• Experience working with NYCHA, HPD, Section 8 vouchers, and LIHTC documentation preferred.
• Experience completing annual and interim recertifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage affordable housing leasing activities, including applicant communication, apartment tours, follow-ups, and appointments.
• Guide applicants through the NYC Housing Connect lottery and application process.
• Collect, review, and organize applicant documentation to ensure files are complete and accurate.
• Coordinate with compliance teams and third-party consultants to resolve outstanding documentation and eligibility questions.
• Prepare leases, landlord packets, and other affordable housing documentation.
• Support annual and interim recertifications and maintain accurate applicant and tenant records.
• Assist with affordable housing compliance, reporting, and audit preparation.
• Manage waiting lists and applicant status updates while following Fair Housing requirements.
• Collaborate with leasing, compliance, and property management teams across multiple buildings.
