Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Kitchen Porter to wash dishes from the kitchen, patient room-service and café, and to keep the dining area tidy. You will assist in retrieving patient trays and supporting dining room sanitation.

No prior experience is required as training will be provided. Responsibilities include operating a commercial dishwasher, documenting dish washer temperatures, and helping with nightly cleaning and organization of the dish area.

Qualifications

• High school graduate (or equivalent).
• Food Handler’s Permit (required within 30 days of employment).
• No previous experience – will train for skill set.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes from the kitchen, patient room-service and café in a timely manner.
• Air dry dishes on drying racks and return them to their locations.
• Assist in gathering patient meal trays from nursing floors and return to dish room for cleaning.

If you are looking for a career where you can make a difference, we have a place for you on our team.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Wash dishes from the kitchen, patient room-service and café in a timely mannerWash dishes using a commercial dish washing machineAir dry dishes on drying racksReturn dishes to their correct locations in the kitchenTake and document dish washer temperatures as outlined in department proceduresAssist in gathering patient meal trays if needed from the nursing floors throughout the hospitals and return them to the dish room to be cleaned and processed.Assist in keeping the department room tidyAssist the cashiers in cleaning off and sanitizing tables in the dining room as neededClean up spills that may occur on the dining room floor throughout the dayTake out department trash as neededAssist in the nightly cleaning of the dining room area as outlined in department procedureKeep the dishwashing area clean and tidyThroughout the day wipe up spills and keep floors safeTake out trash from dish-washing area as neededAt the end of the day, dish-washing machine and area will be thoroughly cleaned according to department procedures, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc.Complete deep cleaning tasks as assignedParticipate in continued education, trainings and maintenance of Food Handlers’ PermitsMaintain current Food Handlers’ PermitComplete the standard Idaho Falls Community Hospital (IFCH), Nutritional Services Department and position-specific Health Stream educations in a timely mannerBENEFITS:Taking care for our community starts with taking care of our own team.
