Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living in Idaho Falls is seeking a Dining Room Server for a full-time day shift. You will provide high-quality meal service, take orders with clarity, and relay them accurately to the kitchen while ensuring a gracious dining atmosphere for residents.

The role emphasizes warm hospitality, dependable attendance, and teamwork in a care-focused environment. Previous dining or healthcare experience is preferred but not required, with comprehensive training provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Provide high-quality meal service with attentive customer care.
• Previous experience in the dietary department or restaurant preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.
• Assist special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene in a sanitary environment.
• Oversee bistro areas as directed including food presentation and stock supplies.
• Know the specials and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn resident names, dietary needs and preferences.
• Serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• Attend trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.

Provide service of high-quality meals and facilitation of a gracious environment. This entails; accurate communication and order taking, properly relaying meal orders to back of the house staff. Offer exceptional customer service, as part of all interactions with our cherished residents.

POSITIONOVERVIEW

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.
• Assist special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain high cleanliness, hygiene, and a sanitary and infection free environment at all times.
• Oversight of bistro areas as directed – food presentation, cleanliness, stock supplies, beverages, make popcorn, etc.
• Know the specials of the day and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn individual resident names, dietary needs, requests, likes and dislikes.
• Must serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• As directed, participate in the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Sanitize tables and chairs, reset tables, and vacuum floor after each meal.
• Attend all trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.
• Demonstration of our Core Values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect.
• Experience: Previous experience in the dietary department of a health care facility or restaurant preferred but not required.
• Job Knowledge: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Standards: Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of ADA, state, infection and control, health department, and OSHA.
