Job summary

Holy Cross Health Fl in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Part-time Nutritional Associate to support patient meal service. Hours are 4:00 pm–8:30 pm, three days a week with rotating weekends and holidays.

You will deliver patient trays, verify patient identity, take orders, serve meals, assist with opening containers, and help in the dish room and beverage areas. The role emphasizes customer service, basic computer skills, and knowledge of hospital diets, with training on allergies and foodborne

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend English.
• Ability to multi-task and work without supervision in a timely manner.
• Prior customer-service and food handling experience preferred.
• Excellent customer-service skills and patience with patients.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient trays and verifies patient identity.

• Assembles, retrieves and cleans patient trays; assists in the dish room.

• Follows Trinity Health policies; performs other duties as assigned.

Purpose: The Nutritional Associate delivers the trays to the patients and checks patient ID to make sure it’s the correct person and fills in for shifts as needed

• Takes patient orders over the phone and in person while providing excellent customer service.
• Delivers carts to the correct floor or patient area.
• Serves trays to patients and determines if they need anything else.
• Ensures correct patient identity.
• Assists patients with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
• Assembles, retrieves and cleans patient trays.
• Assists in the dish room.
• Brews coffee and tea. May be required to restock other beverage areas.
• Re-stocks floor stock (if assigned) and follow standardized process related to floor stock
• Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
• Complies with all Trinity Health policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend English is necessary.
• Ability to multi-task, and complete work without supervision in a timely manner
• Prior customer-service and food handling experience highly preferred.
• Excellent customer-service skills and ability to be patient, respectful and compassionate to patients.
• Must have basic computer knowledge.
• Basic knowledge related to hospital diets.
• Comfortable cleaning trays, assisting in the dish room.
• Previous healthcare or nutrition experience preferred.
• Able to perform well in high functioning kitchen.
