Job summary

Trinity Health in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Nutritional Associate to deliver trays to patients and verify patient identities while supporting dining services. You will interact with patients, take orders, and ensure compassionate, patient-centered care.

This role requires basic computer skills, good communication, and prior food-service experience. The shift is 4 pm–8:30 pm, three days weekly with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend English is necessary.
• Ability to multi-task, and complete work without supervision in a timely manner.
• Prior customer-service and food handling experience highly preferred.
• Excellent customer-service skills and ability to be patient, respectful and compassionate to patients.
• Must have basic computer knowledge.
• Basic knowledge related to hospital diets.
• Comfortable cleaning trays, assisting in the dish room.
• Previous healthcare or nutrition experience preferred.
• Able to perform well in high functioning kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Takes patient orders over the phone and in person while providing excellent customer service.
• Delivers carts to the correct floor or patient area.
• Serves trays to patients and determines if they need anything else.
• Ensures correct patient identity.
• Assists patients with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
• Assembles, retrieves and cleans patient trays.
• Assists in the dish room.
• Brews coffee and tea. May be required to restock other beverage areas.
• Re-stocks floor stock (if assigned) and follow standardized process related to floor stock
• Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
• Complies with all Trinity Health policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
