HumanGood is seeking a Nutrition Services Supervisor to support dining services for residents in our senior living communities. You will work closely with a Registered Dietitian to supervise daily operations, assist with menu development, and ensure nutritional care meets residents’ needs.

In this senior living setting, you’ll coordinate with nursing and dining teams, supervise staff, monitor HACCP and safety compliance, and maintain accurate dietary records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of Foodservice Manager Training Program or equivalent in nutrition/foodservice management.
  • CDM Credentialing Exam with active CDM, CFPP certification status.
  • Food Manager Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Supervisor, Nutrition Services supports food service activities and departmental functions to ensure nutritional care that effectively and efficiently meets the needs of our residents. The Supervisor, Nutrition Services will work closely with a Registered Dietitian (RD) to support resident health and wellness, assist with menu development, and oversee the daily operations of dining services. As a representative and team member of the company, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction. Reports to Director, Dining Services or Manager, Nutrition Services.

  • Pay Range: $33.00-$40.00 per hour
  • Schedule: 5 days/week

Primary Duties & Essential Functions:

The following list includes essential functions that are fundamental to the role. The organization will engage in an interactive process to provide reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law.

  • Works with Registered Dietitian[BD1.1] to monitor all diet changes to ensure compliance and promote the nutritional needs of residents.
  • Collects dietary intake records and visual meal rounds for Registered Dietitian review.
  • Serves as a liaison between resident and dining services by carrying out Registered Dietician’s recommendations.
  • Collaborates with Registered Dietitian to ensure that menus and departmental policies conform to nutritional standards, government regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Reviews and processes diet changes within the tray card system and food preferences.
  • Performs initial resident interviews, gather food preferences, explains diet order to residents, and assists with meal planning and proper adherence to diet.
  • Ensures that all HACCP related forms and logs are filled out correctly and in a timely manner. Maintains records for survey review.
  • Conducts and/or participates in necessary audits as scheduled and requested within the dining program.
  • Inspects food preparation and storage areas.
  • Tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards.
  • Reviews all snack areas for inventory and stocks accordingly; monitors all temperature logs for these areas.
  • Distributes weekly menus to applicable stations.
  • Oversees scheduling to ensure all positions are filled, and duties are fulfilled within the operation; fills in weekends, evenings and holidays according to business needs.
  • Reviews menus prior to preparation of food and ensures all meals are appealing in presentation.
  • Works directly with Dining Director, Registered Dietitian and Nursing to ensure coordination of care.
  • Monitors meal service and corrects problems as appropriate, including sanitation, food temperatures and portion control. Notifies Director, Dining Services and /or Registered Dietitian of outcomes, findings or areas of concern.
  • Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Attends in-service training workshops, seminars, and meetings as required.
  • Promotes and protects the rights of each resident.

Decision Authority & Scope

  • Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and managing job performance of direct reports
  • Audits compliance with local health department regulations, CMS standards, and HACCP food safety guidelines.
  • Collaborates with Registered Dietitian to implement menus, update nutrition care plans, process diet orders
  • Collaborates with nursing, therapy and community staff to support resident well-being.
  • Adheres to the CDM, CFPP code of ethics and scope of practice

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of Foodservice Manager Training Program or another comparable (2-4 year) foodservice management or nutrition program
  • Successful completion of CDM Credentialing Exam with active CDM, CFPP certification status.
  • Food Manager Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. [SP2.1][TB2.2]

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Prior experience in healthcare foodservice

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods (often 50% or more of the workday), lift, push, and pull heavy items (typically 25–50+ pounds, such as food cases or carts), and maneuver in high-heat, noisy, and cold kitchen environments.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to grasp, handle, and operate kitchen equipment and computers.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature variations (walk-in freezers to hot ovens) and around loud equipment
