Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Nutrition Service Supervisor to lead our Nutrition Services Department, shaping policies, budgeting, purchasing, staff development and safety practices. This role supports the Nutrition Service Manager and coordinates dietary services across patient meals and cafeteria operations.

You will oversee inventory, maintain HACCP compliance, ensure proper food handling, and collaborate with other departments to meet nutrition goals in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• CDM or DTR registration may be required by state or regulatory agency.
• Associate degree in food service preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, HACCP guidelines.
• Two years of healthcare food service experience, supervisory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports Nutrition Service Manager in absence.
• Purchases, receives, and inventory control of food and supplies.
• Maintains sanitation and proper temperatures per regulatory agencies.
• Maintains proper food handling techniques per regulatory agencies.
• Determines quality, quantity, and portion size of food.
• Ensures production for patient meals and cafeteria is coordinated.
• Handles cash/tickets and reports.
• Coordinates dietetic services with other departments.
• Purchases food and assigns duties for special needs.
• Conducts in-service education meetings as required.
