Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Nutrition Service Supervisor to coordinate and direct our Nutrition Services Department, overseeing nutritional support for patients, staff and guests. You will implement policies for cafeteria management, food preparation, budgeting, purchasing, staff development and safety practices.

The role involves supporting the Nutrition Service Manager, managing purchasing and inventory, and ensuring HACCP-compliant food service operations across patient meals and cafeteria

Qualifications

• Graduate of an associate degree program in food service preferred.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, administration, and HACCP guidelines.
• Two years of healthcare food service experience, preferably in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Supports Nutrition Service Manager in absence.
• Performs purchasing, receiving and inventory control of food and supplies.
• Maintains sanitation and proper temperatures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintains correct food handling techniques to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Determines quality, quantity, and portion size of food required.
• Coordinates dietetic services with other departments.
• Purchases food and assists with duties for special occasions.
• Ensures in-service education meetings are held and courses are completed.
