Job summary

Riverside is seeking a Nutrition Services Director in Smithfield, VA to lead, direct and coordinate the department, ensuring safe, high quality food services for residents. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 6 years of food service or hospitality management in a healthcare environment (Required)
• Masters Degree, Dietetics/Culinary Arts/Food Services/ Hospitality Service or related (Preferred)
• 3-4 years Food Service or Hospitality Management leadership (Required)
• 5-6 years Director or manager level in Senior Dining or Hospital environment (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Ensures facility/department compliance with applicable regulatory statutes, standards of care, job performance and competency standards.
• Maintains adequate staffing to meet the scope of the department.
• Oversees use of RHS System and Food & Nutrition Services orientations, develops workflows, assigns tasks, supervises and trains direct reports; ensures guest service protocols in Dining Rooms.
• Coordinates payroll functions including time verification and payroll inquiries to minimize adjustments.
• Develops annual operating budgets based on volume and performance metrics; monitors budget monthly and justifies discrepancies; reviews labor hours.
• Improves delivery and outcomes of resident care and dining experiences; reviews menus with RDs to meet nutrition goals; conducts resident rounds.
• Identifies needs for new programs, equipment, or systems and incorporates into strategic planning; establishes capital replacement plans.
