The Nutrition Service Supervisor supports management, planning, and coordination of activities within the Nutrition Services Department to provide nutritional services to patients, employees, and guests. Responsibilities include implementing policies and procedures related to cafeteria management, food preparation, distribution, service, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety practices, staffing, and staff development. The Supervisor may also assist Dietitians with nutrition assessments if qualified.

The role involves creating an environment that enables the department to meet or exceed its goals, supporting cultural diversity by ensuring the delivery of quality, equitable, and culturally competent patient-centered care. Promoting an inclusive work environment and providing ongoing cultural diversity and sensitivity training are also key aspects.

Qualifications

• CDM or Dietetic Technician registration with ADA if required by State or regulatory agency.

Education, Training, and Experience

• Graduate of an associate degree program in food service preferred; knowledge of nutrition, dietetics, hospital food service operations, and H.A.C.C.P. guidelines is advantageous.
• At least two years of healthcare food service experience, preferably in a supervisory role.

Physical Requirements

• Good visual acuity and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, push/pull, and retrieve objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance.
• Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching are required.

Environmental Conditions

• Indoor, temperature-controlled environment with occasional outdoor exposure.
