Job Overview

Ebenezer offers a robust compensation package with excellent benefits and wages ranging from $22.00 - $29.00 per hour. Wage determinations will be based on similar experience.

Ebenezer is looking for a Nutrition Services Supervisor to join our team! This role supports the Director of Nutrition by leading and directing Nutrition Services team members; along with planning, organizing, purchasing food, enforcing proper food handling, sanitation practices, and promoting a safe working environment.

This nutrition services schedule includes:

• 80 hours every two weeks
• Full-time, Day/Evening shifts, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm and/or 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm
• Includes every other weekend and holiday

Responsibilities

• Understand responsibilities of all positions in the department.
• Train, redirect, and assist employees as needed.
• Recommend changes for more efficient operation.
• Be on-call as requested by the Director.
• Enforce proper work habits including food handling, hand washing, sanitation, lifting techniques, body mechanics, and safe use of chemicals.
• Contribute to a positive employee relations environment by expressing appreciation, treating employees with dignity and respect, and resolving questions or complaints.

Operational Duties

• Order food, supplies, and equipment; check in upon receipt to meet specifications; ensure proper storage.
• Follow up on incomplete deliveries or damaged products.
• Set up food purchasing guides.
• Assist in meeting food needs during shortages.

Food Safety & Maintenance

• Maintain temperature logs for foods, freezers, refrigeration, and dishwashers.
• Monitor and record PPM for the 3-compartment sink and eyewash flushing stations weekly.
• Ensure weekly cleaning lists are completed.
• Conduct monthly food safety & sanitation audits.

Menu & Event Planning

• Make menu and recipe recommendations.
• Assist in setting up work production sheets.
• Collaborate with other departments for special events and assist as needed.

Financial & Certification Responsibilities

• Submit bills and credits promptly using proper codes.
• Answer phones and communicate requests effectively.
• Maintain continuing education for ANFP and Food Manager certifications.
• Fill shifts as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Serv Safe certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree.
• One to Three Years of experience.
• Supervisor experience & institutional cooking experience.
