Job Overview

Ebenezer offers a robust compensation package with excellent benefits and wages ranging from $22.00 - 29.00 per hour. Wage determinations will be based on similar experience.

Ebenezer is looking for a Nutrition Services Supervisor to join our team! This role supports the Director of Nutrition by leading and directing Nutrition Services team members, planning, organizing, purchasing food, enforcing proper food handling, sanitation practices, and promoting a safe working environment.

This nutrition services schedule includes:

  • 80 hours every two weeks
  • Full-time, Day/Evening shifts, 6:00am - 2:30pm and/or 3:30 pm - 7:30pm
  • Includes every other weekend and holiday

Located at Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. Managed by Ebenezer, it offers 137 units across Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, and Transitional Care, with an outstanding team of tenured staff. Martin Luther Care Center has been named a Top Nursing Home and Transitional Care Center by US News and World Reports for the past two years.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding responsibilities of all positions in the department
  • Training, redirecting, and assisting employees as needed
  • Recommending techniques for more efficient operations
  • On-call as requested by the Director
  • Enforcing proper work habits: food handling, hand washing, sanitation, lifting techniques, body mechanics, safe use of chemicals
  • Promoting positive employee relations, expressing appreciation, treating employees with dignity and respect, resolving questions or complaints

Additional duties include:

  • Ordering food, supplies, and equipment; checking in deliveries; following up on incomplete or damaged products; setting up order guides
  • Maintaining temperature logs for foods, freezers, refrigerators, and dishwashers
  • Monitoring sanitation and safety audits
  • Making menu and recipe recommendations
  • Assisting with event planning and setup
  • Submitting bills and credits in a timely manner
  • Answering phones and communicating requests
  • Maintaining continuing education requirements for certifications
  • Filling shifts as needed

Required:

  • Serv Safe certification

Preferred:

  • Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
  • One to Three Years of experience
  • Supervisor experience & institutional cooking
