University of California, Davis is seeking a Nutrition Animal Technician to join the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. You will manage therapeutic and nontherapeutic diets, assist clients with food orders, update billing, and maintain clean food prep areas and equipment.
Under supervision of the Small Animal Nutrition Supervisor, you will monitor patient vitals, manage inventory, support discharge procedures, and ensure compliance with protocols.

RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.
Under the direction of the Small Animal Nutrition Supervisor and the Nutrition Service Faculty, maintain all therapeutic and nontherapeutic diets as well as other supplies. Responsible for inventory, ordering, stocking and assisting clients with food orders. Update billing. Clean food preparation area and make sure equipment is clean and in working order. Sweep and mop the food storage area as needed. Monitor and record patient vital functions; maintain supply inventory and equipment; perform feeding, hospitalization and discharge procedures according to protocol.
The VMTH is a unit that provides clinical case material in support of the teaching programs throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine on a 24-hour basis. Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge.
