University of California - Davis VMTH seeks a Large Animal Clinic Support Technician to assist world-leading faculty clinicians and technicians, supporting teaching and animal care.
Under direction of the Large Animal Feed and Bedding Manager, you will order and maintain feed, care for patient stalls, and transport large animals across the School of Veterinary Medicine complex. This is a 100% on-site role in Davis, CA.

Under Direction of the Large Animal Feed and Bedding Manager, order and maintain feed supply for multiple large animal species. Maintain patient stalls and holding areas. Transport large animal patients to various locations throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine complex. Provide patient care support to clinicians and technicians.

The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) is a unit that provides clinical case material in support of the teaching programs throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine on a 24-hour basis. Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge.

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. Work occasional overtime and various hours on short notice (including covering staff shortages and holiday shifts). Work all holidays and weekends. Must be able to accommodate periodic shifts changes (day, swing, night, weekends and holiday). This position is subject to Medical Surveillance procedures and review in accordance with Federal and State Laws and Regulations and University Policy. May be required to wear protective clothing for extended periods of time including gown, coveralls, gloves, masks, face shields, goggles, sleeves and head cover. Requires working with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gaseous anesthetics, zoonotic and infectious diseases, unpleasant odors and distraught clients. Work in a dusty or wet and smelly environment with sick and potentially dangerous large domestic farm animals.
