Job summary

Blue Ribbon Global Technologies is seeking a highly motivated IT professional for a fully onsite role in New York. The candidate will manage Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, storage and backups, and perform Nutanix/AHV and VMware migrations as part of cluster deployment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in IT and at least 5 years in IT support, with strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Ksh, Perl) and willingness to travel to multiple locations. Onsite work five days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with at least 5 years' IT support experience.
• Experience with Nutanix Hypervisor and VMware migration and AHV.
• Knowledge of datacenter operations, storage, and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to script for automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ksh or Perl).
• Willingness to travel to multiple company locations and work onsite 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite IT support across servers, networks, and storage.
• Manage Windows/Linux servers, AD, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Lead Nutanix and VMware migrations between hypervisors.
• Deploy Nutanix clusters and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
• Monitor system health and maintain patch and firmware updates.
• Document solutions and system design; ensure security and compliance.

Job description

Seeking a highly motivated candidate who demonstrates commitment to customer service and possesses strong technical skills and proficiency working with:
Windows Server operating systems, Linux Operating Systems, users administration, file system, software, and services
Understanding of servers and various storage RAID configuration
Active Directory management, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup
In-Depth Knowledge of Nutanix Hypervisor Migration best practices Required
In-Depth Knowledge of VMware Hypervisor Migration to Nutanix AHV Hypervisor
Knowledge in Nutanix Cluster Deployment - required
Fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall
Fundamental understanding of security principles, ACL, Encryption
Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh or perl for automating routine tasks
Experienced with monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts
Disaster recovery planning and ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications and data
Patch and firmware installation and management
Understanding of Baselining, utilizing Industrial Defender preferred
Candidate must be knowledgeable of Darksite patching of Nutanix Hypervisor and components as well as other Hypervisors. - preferred
Bachelor's degree (preferably in Information Technology) with a minimum of 5 years' experience in IT Support.
Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance and how it effects best practices in Datacenters - Preferred

The ideal candidate is well organized, detail-oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with a safety mindset. This individual must also exercise good judgement, integrity, and render sound business decisions. The applicant should possess strong oral and written communication skills and able to produce documentation on solutions and system design. The successful candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of various computing platforms from servers, networks, storage including scripting experience for automation. Must have the ability to lift/transport server equipment when needed. Must be able to provide off‑hour, on‑call support for server and other system related issues that requires travel to various supported sites. Must be willing and able to work overtime and be flexible with work hours to respond to emergencies or scheduled work that must be done either prior to or after normal business hours. Must have the means and be able to travel to various Company locations. Must have a valid driver's license. This position is fully onsite, 5 days a week
