Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking an Engineering Supervisor for the Network Underground Design team, with statewide leadership and accountability for project planning, design, estimating, coordination, and lifecycle management. The candidate must reside within commutable distance to Atlanta, GA.

The role focuses on developing employees, coaching, onboarding, performance management, and ensuring safe operations, with collaboration across Distribution, Transmission, GIS, Construction, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of Distribution and/or Transmission experience required.
• Formal supervisory experience including performance management and team leadership is preferred.
• Experience coordinating complex work across engineering, construction, operations, customers, and external partners is preferred.
• Experience presenting large or complex projects through governance processes is highly desired.
• Experience developing employees through coaching, onboarding, training, or stretch assignments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team supporting customer, asset management, and capital projects.
• Oversee project intake, prioritization, workload management, design completion, and construction package readiness.
• Ensure estimates, documentation, and project records align with compliance, billing, and capital/O&M requirements.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, governance to support cost-effective execution.
• Partner with Distribution, Transmission, GIS, Construction, Key Account Managers, External Affairs, city officials, customers, and other stakeholders to support project execution and resolve issues.
• Develop employees through onboarding, coaching, field exposure, technical training, and ongoing performance feedback.
• Drive accountability for project follow-up, issue resolution, and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support storm restoration efforts on and off-system as requested.
