Job summary

Georgia Power in Newnan, GA is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to guide distribution engineering efforts at the Newnan Operating Headquarters. You will drive safety, budgeting, scheduling, and compliance while mentoring new talent and supporting co-ops.

The role includes leading large-scale projects and storm restoration, with on-call duties and cross-team collaboration. You will work with a skilled team to improve reliability and execute capital projects, reporting to the Distribution

Qualifications

Engineering degree preferred; PE license a plus; MBA or Master’s degree a plus.
Three or more years of Distribution Engineering experience in a power utility company.
Experience with SERP restoration efforts and storm team leadership preferred.
Experience with engineering design, construction, maintenance, compliance and asset management.
Experience with IBEW personnel, system design and committees at state level preferred.
Experience presenting large/complex projects to management for approval preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, direction and performance management for distribution activities for direct reports.
Lead safety initiatives, budget management, construction scheduling and compliance measures.
Support engineering co-ops and mentor new talent in the Distribution Area.
Drive reliability and capital improvement strategy across the area.
Lead Distribution Area initiatives, projects and committees and participate in on-call rotations.
Support storm restoration efforts on system and off-system events and coordinate with teams.
