Job summary

Waldron Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Indiana is seeking an LPN/RN to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants on shift. You will ensure that care complies with federal, state, and local standards as directed by the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, charting care, administering medications, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining a warm, calm environment.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered state RN license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and LTC regulations.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in Long Term Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and plan the shift's services.
• Complete and file required records; transcribe physician orders and document care.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop and maintain a positive, calm unit atmosphere and working rapport with staff.
• Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, dressings, IV care as needed.
• Monitor safety and confidentiality of resident information; ensure privacy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
