PACS is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities during the tour of duty in a long-term care facility. The role requires ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards and coordinating with leadership to maintain high-quality resident care.

Responsibilities include directing nursing activities, maintaining current procedures, participating in committees, and assisting with discharge planning to ensure continuity of care for residents.

Formación

• Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Develop, maintain, and update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
• Ensure that reference material maintained at the nurses’ stations is current. Recommend material to assist the nursing service department.
• Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects day-to-day nursing procedures.
• Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
• Make written and oral reports to the Director as necessary concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
• Periodically review the department’s policies and job descriptions; recommend revisions to the Director.
• Assist in coordinating nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
• Ensure all nursing service personnel are in compliance with their job descriptions.
• Participate in the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) by government agencies as requested.
• Review and update discharge plans for residents as required.
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plan.
• Meet with nursing staff and support personnel to plan services, programs, and activities.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
• Interpret policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting.
• Do not disclose user IDs and passwords; report any unauthorized access.
