Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Nursing Clinical Coordinator (0.6 FTE) in Wheaton, IL. This non-exempt role involves 12-hour shifts and leadership oversight for unit daily management and program activities.

You will monitor staffing, assist with recruitment, and support staff development while ensuring policy compliance and quality patient care within the nursing department. A RN license is required and BLS certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• CRRN required within 6 months of hire date or eligibility.
• Maintains AHA BLS Provider certification.
• Analytical skills necessary to assess a patient’s condition and apply nursing process.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with PC-based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Exhibits creative and positive problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership support to the nurse manager for unit daily management and program management.
• Monitors nursing staffing, operations, and care needs to ensure adequate resources for quality patient care.
• Maintains safe staffing levels through just-in-time recruitment.
• Assists with scheduling and evaluations of nursing staff.
• Supports interviews for nursing department positions with Human Resources.
• Provides staff feedback and competency assessments annually.
• Ensures adherence to standards of performance and policy compliance.
• Supports budget controls and monitoring of overtime and expenses.
