Job summary

South Shore Health in Weymouth, MA is hiring a Unit Coordinator/Secretary for the SSH Cardiac Pratt unit. You will coordinate activities between nursing staff, patients, physicians and hospital departments to ensure efficient unit operations.

The role involves processing orders, admissions, discharges and transfers, maintaining bed and PCS records, and handling discharge paperwork while delivering courteous patient-centered service. 40 hours weekly, day/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
• 40 hours per week, every other weekend (2 12's, 2 8's).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of nursing staff, patient, physician, and other departments to ensure efficient unit operation.
• Handle general receptionist and clerical duties to support nursing unit operations.
• Process orders including admissions, discharges, transfers and pharmacy communications.
• Maintain bed tracking and PCS records and book central scheduling.
• Ensure discharge paperwork and medication reconciliation are completed and faxed as needed.
