Job summary

Taconic at Ulster is seeking a Unit Clerk to provide clerical support to the nursing department and help keep units organized, stocked, and efficient. You will handle filing, scheduling, and patient-related communications in a detail-oriented environment.

Ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, patient-service experience, and HIPAA awareness, with proficiency in electronic records systems and multitasking capabilities.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in customer service, 6–12 months ideal.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
• Good written and spoken communication; HIPAA aware.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and track par levels.
• Record and report supply counts and equipment data.
• Keep supply areas clean, organized and stocked.
• Answer unit phones and forward messages appropriately.
• Coordinate transportation appointments and calendars.
• Prepare physician appointment packets for external visits.
