Qualifications

• Two years of hospital Critical Care or Emergency Room experience is preferred.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, to sit for extended periods, to visually interpret telephone and computer terminals, to move between work areas; to handle stress of high telephone call volume and computer data entry, to work independently and alone.
• Must have initiative, good judgment, resilience, patience, discretion, perseverance and enthusiasm.
• Associates degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage hospital functions on a designated shift.
• Confers with nursing staff, physicians and other department personnel to meet patient care needs.
• Informs the hospital administrator on call of situations requiring attention.
• Manage staffing to provide continuity of professional nursing care.
