Job summary

The Hospital Supervisor at Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Director of Patient Logistics and provides administrative leadership to patient care units to support the continuation of operations as delegated by Senior Leadership on the night shift.

With a BSN and MSN or related graduate degree in progress within 2 years, candidates should have at least 5 years of nursing experience, including 2 years in supervision. SC RN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• BSN required and completion of MSN or graduate degree in related field within 2- years.
• A minimum of 5 years of nursing work experience required (three years of nursing experience and two years of supervisory experience).
• Certification in nursing leadership within one year of eligibility strongly encouraged.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative leadership to patient care units and other hospital departments to support the continuation of operations as delegated by Senior Leadership.
• Facilitate problem solving and communication to ensure the ongoing safe operations of the Medical Center on assigned shift.
• Communicate ongoing activities as necessary to the administrator on-call, nursing leadership and respective department directors.
• Ensure adherence of staff to the procedures, regulations and policies as established.
