Job summary

Valley Health in Woodstock, VA is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for Medical Surgical to oversee patient care delivery during night shifts. The role includes rounding on units, coaching staff, and resolving clinical and staffing issues in collaboration with nursing leadership.

Required are a BSN or a BSN in progress within 5 years, 5 years of acute/critical care experience with leadership preferred, and Virginia RN licensure eligibility with AHA certifications prior to orientation completion.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN license in Virginia or eligible for licensure in Virginia.
• BLS/ACLS (AHA) certifications required prior to orientation completion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care delivery when Nursing Directors are not in the hospital.
• Make rounds on nursing units and collaborate with staff to resolve clinical and staffing issues.
• Coach/mentor staff to improve outcomes and address deficits.
• Advocate for patients and coordinate with support departments to resolve issues.
• Communicate issues up the chain of command to Nursing Leadership and Ancillary Departments.

BSN completed within 5 years of hire
