Valley Health in West Virginia seeks a Registered Nurse for third shift to oversee patient care during assigned shifts and coordinate with units and support departments. The role emphasizes leadership, patient advocacy, and adherence to VH policies.

The ideal candidate holds WV RN licensure, a BSN preferred, and has 3–5 years of acute care experience with strong leadership capabilities. AHA BLS and PALS/PEARS requirements apply.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in acute care nursing with leadership responsibilities.
• RN Nursing License - West Virginia required.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required; AHA Healthcare Provider certification.
• PEARS or PALS required within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care delivery during assigned shifts and supervise departments in the absence of the department supervisor.
• Make rounds on nursing units and collaborate with staff to address clinical and staffing issues.
• Coach and mentor staff to improve outcomes when deficits are identified and address practice variations.
• Advocate for patients and communicate with support departments to resolve issues.
• Communicate issues up the chain of command to AOC, Hospital Leadership, and Ancillary Departments.
