You will round on nursing units, collaborate with staff to resolve clinical and staffing issues, and coach teams to improve outcomes while safeguarding patient safety and quality metrics.

The role requires a VA RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and leadership experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

Job Description

This position is accountable for oversight of patient care delivery whenever the Nursing Directors are not in the hospital. This RN makes rounds to the nursing units, collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to HR policies. Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified. This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues. Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Department

Education
College Diploma Nursing Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Bachelors Nursing Preferred

Experience
5 Years Healthcare/Medical - Nursing General
Two years demonstrated in leadership responsibilities preferred.

Certification & Licensures
RN license in VA
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
