Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems is seeking a Nursing Supervisor at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution Shirley to oversee nursing operations across assigned regions in a correctional setting.

The role ensures regulatory compliance, medication management, and patient education for medication-assisted treatment.

Qualifications

• Valid MA RN or LPN license from an accredited school is required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Prior supervisory experience is required; DOC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing operational and supervisory support to nursing staff in assigned regions and ensure compliance with policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Developing and maintaining the nursing schedule across regions to ensure adequate coverage.
• Ensuring an adequate supply of medication at assigned sites and maintaining 222 forms when ordering to prevent delays.
• Participating in on-call nursing rotation.
• Controlling, counting and documenting onsite medication accurately.
• Educating patients on medication-assisted treatment use, purpose, side-effects, and other information.
• Verifying medication orders with the addiction specialist and transcribing orders.
• Assisting in the admission process and documenting substance-use disorder diagnosis as required.
