Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a nursing student who has completed at least one medical/surgical rotation and is pursuing licensure. The role operates under direct RN supervision with the goal of licensure and transition to a new graduate nurse resident position as cohorts become available.

Qualifications

• Student in good standing in an accredited School of Nursing program with at least one medical/surgical rotation.
• BLS-HCP certification required upon hire or within 60 days with approval.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient care needs by answering call lights and assisting with hygiene and nourishment.
• Obtain and document vital signs; communicate with the care team.
• Assist with Foley catheter and nasogastric tube care as directed.
• Perform secondary assessments alongside the RN.
• Educate patients and families on disease, medications and care plan.
• Assist nurses and physicians within scope and competency.
• Adhere to infection prevention standards and contribute to patient experience goals.
• Assist with transfers, admissions and discharges per safe patient handling principles.
