Job summary

Intermountain Health in Denver, CO seeks a nursing student who has completed at least one medical/surgical rotation and is pending licensure. The role supports RNs under supervision with plans to obtain licensure promptly and transition into a new graduate nurse resident role as cohorts become available.

Qualifications

• Student in good standing in an accredited School of Nursing program, with at least one medical/surgical rotation completed.
• BLS-HCP certification at hire or within 60 days with approval.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient care needs by answering call lights and assisting with hygiene and nourishment.
• Documents vitals, I&O, and nurse signature; communicates with care team.
• Assists with Foley catheter and nasogastric tube care as directed.
• Performs secondary assessments in support of the RN.
• Educates patients and families about disease, meds, and care plans.
• Assists nurses and physicians within scope and competency; adheres to infection prevention standards.
• Assists with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges according to safe handling principles.
