Job summary

Novato Healthcare Center in California is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to support the nursing department. The role focuses on ensuring adequate staffing levels, coordinating schedules for CNAs and licensed nurses, and auditing documentation to meet NHPPD guidelines.

The coordinator will maintain attendance calendars, report staffing issues to the Administrator and DON, and assist with employee forms and inquiries, ensuring high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of health care training and/or staff coordinator experience in either acute or long-term care including supervisory experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Administrative and organizational ability
• Certified Nursing Assistant license (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Follow NHPPD staffing audit guidelines and report to Administrator and DON if a minimum of a daily average of 3.5 total nursing hours per resident day is not being met.
• Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing of the facility nursing department to meet the needs of the residents.
• Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars
• Report to DON all employees with excess tardiness or absenteeism in accordance with facility policy.
• Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of unit and daily assignments for all CNA's and licensed nurses.
• Assist employees in accurate completion of forms pertinent to scheduling and staffing
• Answer employee calls regarding staffing/scheduling functions
• Assist in making daily rounds to ensure residents are receiving appropriate nursing care.
• Assist in auditing CNA documentation daily
• Assist with maintaining records of current certifications/licenses for nursing department employees
• Assisting and working closely with DSD
