Job summary

Community Memorial Health System is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to compile staff assignments for nursing departments, coordinating with unit leadership and house supervisors. The role emphasizes detailed recordkeeping and timely communication to ensure adequate staffing across shifts.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and basic computer skills. Experience in staffing or using staffing software is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Basic computer skills – Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Studies schedules and staffing guideline tables to ascertain personnel requirements on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Determines and records work assignments according to patient acuity, unit census, staff availability, and classifications under direction of supervisor.
• Collaborates with nursing management to adjust schedules for changing needs and future gaps.
• Contacts staff to confirm availability and arrange assignments.
• Maintains data in staffing software and records staffing activity and changes.
• Communicates via email and phone with staff and leadership.
• Monitors bed flow software and supports placement of patients with the nursing supervisor.
