Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to support patient care units by receiving staffing requests and allocating resources on a shift-by-shift basis. You will review staffing reports, compare recommendations with unit needs, and collaborate with charge RNs to meet staffing demands.

You will help orient nurse managers and staff to staffing practices, analyze patterns to balance coverage, and communicate availability and placements.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Prefer prior experience with inpatient care unit in a patient care or support role.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills necessary.

Responsibilities

• Receive staffing requests and allocate resources within the Department of Nursing on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Review staffing recommendation reports, compare with unit staffing resources and requests, and collaborate with charge RNs to meet staffing needs.
• Analyze staffing patterns and trends to determine when staffing needs are balanced or when to hire or grant excused absences.
• Assist with orienting nurse managers, nursing supervisors, and RN staff to staffing practices and procedural guidelines.
