Job summary

Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre (GSWB) coordinates staffing for inpatient nursing units. This role enters and maintains unit schedules and numerous nursing logs, payroll records and demographic information.

Evening/overnight shifts (3:00 PM–7:30 AM) with 32 hours per week, every other weekend and rotating holiday coverage. Office-based work environment with close collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience required.
• Clerical, data entry and scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with nursing unit personnel and supervisors to evaluate staffing numbers and skill mix every four hours.
• Determines appropriate personnel reassignments and communicates plan to all parties.
• Indicates absences and records on daily worksheets and time-entry system.
• Maintains paper file with critical contact information for backup during downtime.
• Ensures accurate entry of patient acuity data for decision making.
• Tracks float pool activity including voluntary overtime and redeployments.
• Manages patient companions and placement according to needs.
