Job summary

West Coast University is seeking a Nursing Skills Lab Coordinator to guide students in hands-on labs and ensure quality learning experiences in our healthcare programs.

You will coordinate lab schedules, maintain equipment, uphold safety standards, and support nursing instructors in delivering practice-based education that prepares students for compassionate patient care. This role requires organization and clear communication to foster student success within a collaborative campus environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of prior healthcare provider experience with direct patient contact.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with use of medical instruments, equipment, and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to students in the skills labs and supports faculty with equipment and supplies.
• Prepares simulators with moulage and realistic wounds per faculty requirements; participates in training sessions.
• Maintains labs, storerooms, and prep rooms in neat, orderly condition and according to schedules.
• Maintains and repairs equipment; schedules regular maintenance and follows through on requests.
• Delivers lab safety and hazardous materials handling instruction; ensures safety standards are met.
• Conducts periodic lab safety and sanitation checks with supervisor reports.
• Prepares and follows up on requisitions for lab supplies and equipment and places orders as directed.
• Maintains accurate records including inventory of supplies/equipment.
• Acts as liaison between University and vendors for lab materials.
• Maintains regular attendance and proper time records.
