Job summary

Qualifications

• Active LVN license in California (unencumbered).
• 1–2 years clinical nursing experience in acute, long-term or community health settings.
• BLS certification current and maintained.
• Proficient in basic nursing skills and procedures.
• Familiarity with nursing simulation equipment and supplies, or willingness to be trained.
• Ability to organize lab supplies and maintain a clean, functional lab space.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, simulation software, inventory systems).
• Strong communication with students and faculty.
• Commitment to student-centered support and clinical safety standards.
• Flexible and collaborative, open to new requests and responsibilities.
• Experience with creative troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Self-directed with ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Mission of Westmont College.
• Prepare, set up, and clean up equipment, supplies, and manikins for sessions.
• Ensure lab and storage areas are clean, organized, and stocked.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking.
• Conduct equipment checks and report malfunctions.
• Support faculty during simulation by operating equipment or role-playing standardized patients.
• Provide hands-on assistance to students with guidance and demonstrations.
• Ensure adherence to clinical and safety protocols.
• Maintain attendance records, skill checklists, and equipment usage.
• Assist with scheduling open lab times and simulation sessions.
• Maintain lab schedule and post to bulletin board.
• Support faculty in developing materials for labs and complete incident forms if needed.
• Engage with students, provide formative and summative feedback.
• Promote professional behavior and clinical competency.
