Job summary

Rasmussen University in Bloomington, MN seeks a Simulation Technician for the School of Nursing to support day-to-day operations of the nursing simulation space. You will prepare, operate, and maintain simulators, manikins, AV equipment, and supplies, collaborating with the National Simulation team, Nursing Leadership, faculty, and students to advance simulation education.

The role requires strong time management, organization, and communication.

Qualifications

• Professional certificate, diploma, or applied associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience in a clinical healthcare environment or technical field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience troubleshooting simulation technology and AV systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred: CHSE or CHSOS certification; experience with Laerdal simulators.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of all simulation activities.
• Maintain simulation activities and learner confidentiality.
• Set up, breakdown, clean up, and restock simulation spaces and equipment.
• Organize storerooms, hallways, and control rooms.
• Operate patient manikins and AV equipment during simulations.
• Train faculty on equipment and technical aspects of running simulations.
• Maintain warranties and maintenance records for equipment.
• Orient learners and staff to simulators and environment.
• Track inventory and supplies.
• Provide campus tours and outreach events.
• Maintain safety and latest simulation technology proficiency.
• Collect data for benchmarking and ongoing improvement.
• Manage lab medical waste per OSHA requirements.
• Order supplies within budget for scheduled activities.
• Perform software/firmware updates and repairs on equipment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and contact vendors as needed.
